The best barbecue side dishes

Grilled meats tend to be the star of the show at most barbecue nights, but a perfect barbecue only comes together with side dishes that accompany the shining hero. We’ve gathered a few classics, added a twist or two, and put some words together below, describing how to make your guests ask for seconds (and thirds).

With grilled meats often being slightly heavy by nature, lighter sides usually complement the star well. That’s why these summery salads make some delightful accompaniments. We’re serving up a light and fresh potato salad with thinly-sliced radishes, spring onions and salty cheese cubes, a Greek pasta salad, which combines two of the most popular summer sides of all-time and a watermelon and cheese cubes salad (yes… It actually says watermelon and cheese cubes. It might not seem the most obvious sweet-meets-salty-combination, but it’s definitely one of the best!).

Now, with the classic sides taken care of, it’s time to serve up some of those little surprises. They may not look like much, but the dips and dressings are often what makes all the difference. Spice up your dishes with this spicy barbecue dip, this mint pesto dip or this avocado, hummus and cheese dip.

Aaaand finally, not to forget: The snacks!

With these delicious grilled cheese horns, a light and fresh summer aperitif and some smokey cauliflower wings, we guarantee that you’ll be shining just as much as the grilled meats.

Happy barbecuing!
